Day 2 – Imperial Istanbul: Topkapı Palace, Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia

Today is dedicated to discovering the iconic monuments surrounding Sultanahmet Square, the heart of imperial Istanbul. The tour begins at Topkapı Palace, once the residence and administrative center of Ottoman sultans for nearly four centuries. Built after the conquest of Constantinople, the palace complex reflects the elegance and functional simplicity of classical Ottoman architecture.

Walking through its courtyards, you will explore the imperial kitchens, council chamber, treasury, and private pavilions of the sultans. The visit continues to the Blue Mosque, famous for its exquisite İznik tiles and its role not only as a mosque but also as a social complex including madrasas and charitable institutions.

After lunch at a local restaurant featuring Ottoman cuisine, the afternoon is devoted to Hagia Sophia, a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture built in 537 AD. Having served as a church, cathedral, mosque, and museum over 14 centuries, Hagia Sophia stands as a powerful symbol of Istanbul's layered identity. Free time follows before returning to your hotel.

Day 3 – Gallipoli Battlefields & Journey to Çanakkale

Leaving Istanbul, you travel west toward the Dardanelles to explore the historic Gallipoli Peninsula, one of the most significant fronts of the First World War. The Gallipoli Campaign played a defining role in modern Turkish history and in the emergence of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Within the Gallipoli National Park, visits include key sites such as ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine Cemetery, and Chunuk Bair, offering insight into the human cost and strategic importance of the campaign.

The day concludes with a visit to the modern Gallipoli War Museum, followed by a ferry crossing to the Asian side of the strait and arrival in Çanakkale.

Walking among the ruins, you will see remnants of the massive city walls and gain insight into the archaeological discoveries that shaped our understanding of ancient Anatolia. From Troy, the journey continues south to Pergamon, one of the great centers of the Hellenistic world.

Using a cable car, you ascend to the acropolis, dramatically positioned atop a steep hill. Highlights include temples, the ancient library once rivaling Alexandria, and the spectacular theatre—the steepest of the ancient world. After the visit, drive to Selçuk.

Ephesus also holds deep significance for early Christianity, having been visited by Saint Paul and mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

Above the terraces lies the ancient city of Hierapolis, founded in the Hellenistic period and later transformed into a major Roman healing center. Visits include the extensive necropolis, Roman streets, and the remarkably preserved theatre.

In the afternoon, the journey continues through scenic countryside toward Dalyan, following mountain roads and pastoral landscapes.

Today begins with a relaxing river boat cruise in Dalyan, a charming town set between Köyceğiz Lake and the Mediterranean coast. Gliding through reed-lined waterways, you experience one of the most scenic and peaceful landscapes in Western Turkey, far from busy tourist routes.

The cruise leads to the ancient city of Caunos, once an important trading port exporting timber, salt, and agricultural products. Exploring the site reveals the theatre, temples, and forum, while learning about the city's decline caused by malaria and the silting of its harbor during Roman times.

Continuing by boat, you reach Iztuzu Beach, a protected 7-kilometer stretch of sand famous as a nesting ground for endangered Caretta caretta sea turtles. After free time for swimming, return to Dalyan with the option to enjoy a traditional mud bath experience, known for its relaxing and rejuvenating qualities.
