TOUR OVERVIEW

This is a round cruise trip on a traditional wooden Gulet.Departing from Fethiye it follows eastward route along the turquoise bays and charming fishing villages with dramatic mountain scenery.This tour offers a multiactive cruise including sea kayaking,sightseeing and plent of snorkelling opportunuties

Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrival to Dalaman airport.Transfer to Fethiye,boarding gulet.

You meet tour guide at the Dalaman airport.We drive to Fethiye harbour and board our gulet.(1hr)After a safety briefing,we have a sunset cruise to Gemiler Bay where we moore for overnight stay.(1.5hrs cruise)

DAY 2 Cruise to Kalkan,optional excurison to Saklıkent gorge and Xantos.

Today we set off early in the morning to Kalkan(3.5 hrs cruise).We have breakfast and swim stop in Fırnaz bay.Then we moore to Kalkan harbour.We have an optional off shore excursion to Xantos and Saklıkent gorge.We drive to Xantos first (15min)Xantos was the first capital of Lycians and one of the leading cities of Lycian league.Lycians were one of the earliest civilizations of mediterranean who were fond of their independence.Thus they founded the first democratic union in the history called ''Lycian League''.Ancient writers such as Homer and Heredotus tell the stories of brave Lycian warriors.Xantians commited massive suicides in the history during Persian period in 545 BC and against Roman general Burutus in 42 BC.They set a fire to everything and throw themselves into.Today some remarkable remains of that glorious civilisation are situated on the east bank of Eşen river.Xantos was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1988.Then we carry on to the Saklıkent gorge.It is a 18km long canyon and best place to cool off from the heat.As the water level decrease in summer we have chance to walk through 200mt high walls.Then we have lunch by the river and return to Kalkan.We stay in Fırnaz bay near Kalkan.

DAY 3 Cruise to Kekova Sunken city,visit Simena castle,optional walk to Gökkaya bay.

After breakfast we cruise to Kekova area.Kekova island is known as 'Sunken City'.Due to the earthquakes,surrounding settlements of the island was submerged.Part of the houses ,tombs and streets are in the water.It is an archeological site waiting to be excavated.We cruise along the island.We then have a swim break at aquarium bay.We have an optional excursion to Simena castle.It is a medieval castle on a hill top overlooking the turquoise bays.Simena was a small Lycian fishing village.The ruins of the ancient city are scattered around the village houses giving a character to the village.The inhabitants make their living from fishing and agriculture.We can walk up the top of the castle and enjoy the dramatic scenery.We then have an optional walk on the Lycian way to Gökkaya Bay where we stay overnight.(2hrs walk 6km)

DAY 4 Optional visit to Myra,cruise to Çamlıca bay.

Today we cruise to Çayağzı harbour.Here,we have half day excursion to Myra and St Nicholas church.Myra was one of the leading cities of Lycian league.Lycian rock tombs and grand roman theatre are the top highlights of the city.St Nicholas was born in Patara and became bishop of the church in Myra.His fame spread out all over the world by the sailors and has evolved to present form.The church has become a pilgrimage destination among Orthodox christians.We return to boat for lunch.Afternoon we cruise to Çamlıca bay and enjoy the refreshing water.Stay at the bay around Üçağız.

DAY 5 Optional sea kayaking along sunken city,Cruise to Kaş.

Today's activity is sea kayaking along the sunken city. It is organised by professional kayak guides and suits every level of kayakers.Early in the morning we have safety briefing at the start point and paddle towards the calm waters of mediterranean.There is also a support boat follows you along the trip.We return to boat and have lunch.Afternoon we cruise to Kaş harbour.It is the charming old fishing town.White washed houses and narrow but lively streets create its unique authenticity.We stroll around the town.Stay at Kaş harbour tonight.

DAY 6 Cruise to Gemiler,visit St Nicholas island.

Early in the morning we set off to Gemiler.(3.5hrs)If you are lucky you might see the dolphins racing the boat.Depending on sea conditions we have breakfast at the spectacular butterfly valley.Continue on to Gemiler Bay.Here is another great spot for snorkeling,you may swim with ornate wrasse,garpikes and logger head sea turtles.Afternoon we have optional walk up to St Nicholas island. It is believed that the island was visited by St Nicholas thus it became one of the pigrimage stops of the sailors.As St Nicholas was the patron saint of sailors it was a common tradition among sailors to hang his icon on the mast of the ship. There are churches and tombs date back to 5th and 6th century A.D.We walk to the top through the ruins and enjoy our sunset drinks overlooking turquoise bays.Stay at Gemiler bay.

DAY 7 Cruise to Fethiye via Tarzan bay.

Today we have a very relaxed day.We cruise to Tarzan bay.The bay is surrounded by protruidng pine trees reminding Tarzan film scene.Its' abundant sea life make this spot popular for diving and day boats from Fethiye.We stay in a bay nearby Fethiye.(Due to the operational reasons we may moore to the harbour.)

DAY 8 Tour ends.Transfer to Fethiye.

We cruise to Fethiye harbour.Transfer to Dalaman airport.
