Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Antalya & Antalya Old Town
Welcome to Antalya!
Meet your private tour guide at Antalya Airport and transfer to your hotel in the historic old town of Kaleiçi, approximately 30 minutes from the airport.
Depending on your arrival time, we can enjoy an optional Antalya Old Town walking tour.
Kaleiçi has been the historic heart of Antalya for centuries. Roman remains, Ottoman-era houses, narrow atmospheric streets and the old harbor create a unique character.
Take a relaxed walk through the historic center and explore some of Antalya's most important landmarks before settling into your hotel.
Overnight: Antalya – Kaleiçi
Day 2 – Göynük to Göynük Yayla
Hiking: 15 km | 6–7 hours
Ascent: 950 m | Descent: 475 m
After breakfast, we drive approximately 45 minutes from Antalya to the starting point of today's Lycian Way hike in Beydağları Coastal National Park.
The protected mountain landscape is home to rich Mediterranean flora and wildlife. The trail climbs gradually through dense pine forests towards the high pastures of Göynük.
As we gain altitude, spectacular views open towards the surrounding mountains and Antalya Gulf.
We stop beside a mountain stream for a picnic lunch. Depending on the season and water levels, there may also be an opportunity for a refreshing swim.
In the afternoon, we continue towards the high pasture before meeting our vehicle and transferring to our accommodation.
Overnight: Mountain village area
Day 3 – Göynük Yayla to Yayla Kuzdere
Hiking: 16 km | Approximately 5 hours
Ascent: 460 m | Descent: 550 m
Today's walk begins near our accommodation.
We follow a downhill trail towards the road where we finished the previous day's hike and continue through the Taurus Mountains, passing traditional shepherd shelters and mountain landscapes.
We descend towards Gedelme, where we stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we explore the remains of a historic Roman fortress and see centuries-old plane trees in the surrounding village.
The afternoon hike gradually climbs towards Yayla Kuzdere along mountain tracks. As we approach the village, the impressive northern slopes of Mount Olympos come into view.
Overnight: Village house in Yayla Kuzdere
Depending on availability, accommodation may be arranged at a local pension in Gedelme.
Day 4 – Yayla Kuzdere to Beycik & Transfer to Çıralı
Hiking: 15 km | Approximately 6 hours
Ascent: 990 m | Descent: 1,150 m
We begin today's hike from the village and climb steadily through beautiful cedar forests and sections of mountain terrain.
Our route takes us towards Çukur Yayla, a high mountain pasture surrounded by spectacular alpine scenery.
In spring, snowmelt creates small cascades flowing down the valleys, while the surrounding mountain flora adds color to the landscape.
During the summer months, these high pastures are traditionally used by local Yörük communities who move with their livestock between the mountains and the coastal areas.
After lunch, we continue towards Beycik, descending from the mountain pass on an old mule trail.
Our driver meets us in Beycik and we transfer to Çıralı, a peaceful Mediterranean village famous for its beach, ancient ruins and the Chimaera flames.
Overnight: Çıralı
Day 5 – Ulupınar to Çıralı, Chimaera & Olympos Ancient City
Hiking: Approximately 6–7 km | 2–3 hours
Ascent: 200 m | Descent: 320 m
After breakfast, we drive approximately 15 minutes to Ulupınar, a popular local area known for its restaurants and streams.
From here, we begin a relatively short but scenic walk through the surrounding countryside before reaching the legendary Chimaera (Yanartaş).
For thousands of years, natural flames have emerged from the rocky mountainside due to methane-rich gases escaping from underground.
After visiting Chimaera, we meet our driver and continue to Olympos Ancient City.
After lunch, we explore the atmospheric ruins of this ancient Lycian port city. Hidden among dense Mediterranean vegetation, Olympos features remains from different periods of its long history.
The ruins extend along both sides of the Akçay River, which once played an important role in the ancient settlement.
After exploring the archaeological site, there is time to relax on Olympos Beach and, depending on the season and conditions, enjoy a swim in the turquoise Mediterranean waters.
We return to Çıralı for another night.
Overnight: Çıralı
Day 6 – Olympos to Adrasan Bay
Hiking: 16 km | Approximately 6 hours
Ascent: 750 m | Descent: 750 m
Today we return to Olympos Beach and begin one of the most rewarding sections of our Lycian Way trekking adventure.
Starting near the ancient necropolis of Olympos, the trail climbs steadily through Mediterranean pine forests and areas of strawberry trees towards the slopes of Mount Musa.
We stop for lunch while enjoying spectacular views across the surrounding countryside and the Mediterranean coast.
The trail then descends through fragrant pine forest towards Adrasan Bay.
Adrasan is a peaceful coastal settlement popular with Turkish holidaymakers and known for its relaxed atmosphere and beautiful beach.
After the hike, you can relax by the sea and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere.
Overnight: Adrasan
Day 7 – Adrasan to Gelidonia Lighthouse
Hiking: 18 km | Approximately 7 hours
Ascent: 700 m | Descent: 680 m
Today is one of the highlights of the entire Lycian Way hiking tour.
After a short transfer from Adrasan, we begin hiking near an old camel farm. The trail climbs diagonally through pine forest, with increasingly impressive views over Adrasan Bay.
As we continue along the ridges, the Mediterranean coastline remains in view, with dramatic cliffs, islands and deep blue water creating one of the most spectacular landscapes on the Lycian Way.
In spring, wildflowers and cyclamens add color to the trail.
Eventually, we descend towards Gelidonia Lighthouse, one of the most iconic viewpoints along the Lycian Way.
Built in 1936, the lighthouse stands above the rugged coastline with several Mediterranean islands visible offshore.
We meet our vehicle near the lighthouse and return to Adrasan.
Overnight: Adrasan
Day 8 – Transfer to Antalya Airport
After breakfast, we transfer from Adrasan to Antalya Airport.
The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.
